Karma Footprint - VERVE THINK TANK GLOBAL Campaign 2018
KARMA FOOTPRINT : £1,410 for Partners in Health Sierra Leone
WHO : Team VERVE London & PIH
WHAT : A VERVE Think Tank Global Campaign
WHEN : 29 November 2018
WHY : Raising funds and awareness around the amazing work PIH does for women and girls in Sierra Leone
On 29th November, 2018, we had our final VERVE Think Tank (#VTT) of the year where we partnered with an amazing charity - Partners In Health (PIH). Our relationship with PIH began earlier in the year and we were quick to realize that we greatly valued the work they do for women and girls healthcare in Sierra Leone - and knew we needed to share this with our community.
“Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organisations based in settings of poverty, Partners in Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and serve as an antidote to despair.” - PIH
Jourdan McGinn, Director of Policy & Partnership at PIH Sierra Leone joined us for an interview style discussion alongside Anna Quick- Palmer (Chief Feminist Operative) and 40 wonderful feminists. As the drinks flowed, the pizza eaten & the skyline of London as our background, we got to hear a more in depth and personal account on the importance of PIH-SL work & goals, how we can ensure our own governments are keeping in line with our beliefs & what we can do to make an incremental yet fundamental change.
We can’t thank Jourdan enough for opening our eyes & our hearts to the life saving work PIH does in Sierra Leone…And to all the attendees for showing up and being true allies.
